Sarafa Bazaar Ke Baad Kahan? Indore Ke 5 Late Night Foodie Stops Jo Tum Miss Kar Rahe Ho

By Abhishek Agrawal  ·  Indore.online

Tum Ujjain se aaye ho — Mahakal ke darshan kiye, woh divine experience liya — aur ab raat ke 10:30 baje Indore mein ho. Woh 70 km ka safar khatam hua. Aur koi ne kaha: “Bhai, Indore aaye ho toh Sarafa toh jaana hi hai.” Sahi baat. Gaye. Khaya. Amazing tha. Par raat ke 1 baje Sarafa band hone laga. Ab? Yeh guide usi sawaal ka jawab hai.

Pehle — Sarafa Ko Samjho (Jo Visitors Miss Karte Hain)

Sarafa Bazaar din mein jewellery market hai. Raat 8 PM ke baad — transformation hoti hai. Jewellers ke shutters band hone ke saath food stalls khulne lagte hain. 8 PM–2 AM window. Unique items: Bhutte Ka Kees (India mein sirf Indore mein milta hai), Garadu (deep-fried yam, winter special), Jalebo (king-size jalebi — ek piece 5 logon ke liye), Sabudana Khichdi, Khopra Pattice. Yeh sab mainstream Indian food city mein nahi milte. This is why Indore is worth the detour from Ujjain.

Ab woh 5 spots jo Sarafa ke baad (ya Sarafa ke parallel) exist karte hain:

🌙 Stop 1: 56 Dukan (Chappan Dukan) — 6 AM–10 PM Window

Distance from Sarafa: 10 minute auto
Location: New Palasia
Closes: 10 PM (note: earlier than Sarafa)

Agar tum Sarafa se pehle ho ya jaldi dinner chahiye — 56 Dukan is the companion stop. 60+ food stalls, certified Clean Street Food Hub (Smart Cities Award 2022 winner). Unique here: Madhuram Sweets ki shikanji (₹100 shot glass mein — thick, saffron, rabdi), Shahi Rasmalai, Vijay Chaat ki Khopra Pattice. Indore ka “family-friendly” version of Sarafa. Well-lit, clean, radio playing, organized.

Visitor tip: Start here at 7 PM, then Sarafa at 9 PM — that’s the optimal Indore food tour sequence.

🌙 Stop 2: Sitla Mata Bazaar Night Lane — After 9 PM

Distance from Sarafa: 15 minute auto
Closes: 12-1 AM

Most tourists don’t know this one. Sitla Mata Bazaar daytime mein kapde ki market hai. 9 PM ke baad — chaat stalls set up hote hain. Less crowded than Sarafa. More intimate, more local. Woh “eating with Indoris, not tourists” feeling yahan milti hai. Good for: masala chai + Indori chaat combination, late-night savory cravings.

Directions: Auto wala “Sitla Mata Bazaar” jaanta hai. MG Road se 15 minute.

🌙 Stop 3: Vijay Nagar Late Night Cafe Belt — Till 1-2 AM

Distance from Old City: 20-25 minute Ola/Uber
Where: AB Road/Vijay Nagar stretch

After Sarafa’s street food — if you want to sit, AC, and proper drinks (mocktails, cold coffee, desserts): Vijay Nagar’s cafe strip. Options: Trance Pub 2 (drinks, late night, till ~1:30 AM), KYRO Rooftop (till midnight, global menu, rooftop view), Taberna Cafe Bar (Velocity Multiplex, Ring Road, bar format + mocktails). Especially useful for visitors who want to wind down post-Sarafa in a more relaxed setting with AC and seating.

🌙 Stop 4: Sky Blue Sports Bar / Late Night Dhabas — Post Midnight

For: Groups who want non-food entertainment after midnight
Distance: Varies

Post midnight, Indore ki food energy shifts but doesn’t stop. Sky Blue Sports Bar — board games, snooker, football screenings — late night hangout. Highway dhabas on Mhow Road direction also stay open late (roadside lantern-lit setups) — woh truck-driver-wali chai at 1 AM experience. For visitors, this is the authentic “small hours Indore” experience that no travel guide talks about.

🌙 Stop 5: The Next Morning — Woh Round-Up

Timing: 6-9:30 AM

After a long night in Indore — the best closing experience is actually the next morning. Young Tarang at 56 Dukan for poha-jalebi at 6:30 AM. Or Sharma Cafe near railway station for ₹12 chai. Woh contrast — raat ki bhaagdaud ke baad subah ki woh quiet, steam-rising plate of poha — yeh woh Indore experience hai jo travel blogs typically nahi capture karte.

For Ujjain visitors specifically: Stay one night in Indore (multiple hotels on MG Road and Vijay Nagar in ₹1,500-4,000 range). Sarafa + Sitla Mata + early morning 56 Dukan = a complete 16-hour Indore food experience that makes the trip genuinely worth it.

🗺️ Visitor’s Quick Planning Table

Time Spot Best For
7-9 PM 56 Dukan Shikanji, Khopra Pattice, Chaat
9 PM–1 AM Sarafa Bazaar Bhutte Ka Kees, Garadu, Jalebo, Sabudana
9-12 AM Sitla Mata Local chaat, chai, authentic crowd
10 PM–2 AM Vijay Nagar Cafes Sit-down, mocktails, wind-down
6-9:30 AM Young Tarang/56 Dukan Poha-Jalebi morning closer

“Ujjain darshan ke baad Indore mein ruke — pehle plan nahi tha. Ek raat ruke, Sarafa gaye, Sitla Mata accidentally dhundh liya, aur subah poha-jalebi se banda. Us ek raat ne Indore ko mere favourite cities ki list mein daal diya. Tab se har Ujjain trip pe ek extra Indore night mandatory hai.”
